Simulation results for GPU simulations in Ansys Lumerical FDTD™ are not stored inside the simulation file like CPU simulation results. These results are stored in a separate auxiliary folder with the same name as the simulation file, created in the same directory as the simulation file.
This folder structure is shown below with an example with the name my_fdtd_simulation.fsp. The results are stored within the .h5 file.
<path to simulation file>\my_fdtd_simulation.fsp
<path to simulation file>\my_fdtd_simulation\my_fdtd_simulation.h5You can move the simulation file and auxiliary folder containing the results together to another folder or another file system.
GPU simulation results cannot be accessed if the simulation file is moved without the auxiliary folder, or if the auxiliary folder is deleted. After you run a simulation, if you switch to layout mode and save, the auxiliary folder and the results within are automatically deleted if they are present.
