GPU simulations now support broadband sources with frequency-dependent profiles, allowing for efficient analysis of certain structures such as waveguides with highly dispersive materials.
The convergence and accuracy of dispersive materials for GPU have been improved.
Ansys Cloud Burst Compute™: Two new script commands, addjob and runjobs, are now available for use with Ansys Cloud Burst Compute™ for Lumerical. They can respectively add jobs to the built-in job manager queue and submit batch jobs to the cloud to run in parallel without using sweep and optimization utilities.
RCWA solver: The 3D RCWA tangent vector field feature has been withdrawn for improvement. As a result, this feature is no longer displayed in the GUI. Li factorization for 2D RCWA is unimpacted and remains available.
Ansys Lumerical INTERCONNECTTM
Directly modulated laser (DML) model workflow: A new scripted workflow is now available for the creation of a physics-based laser compact model with the Directly Modulated Laser element in INTERCONNECT and measured RIN and LI curves. The workflow is documented in the Knowledge Base article here.
Ansys Lumerical CML CompilerTM
Model generation workflow improvement: The model generation process for INTERCONNECT photonic compact models and photonic Verilog-A compact models are now independent in CML Compiler. You can now choose to build either photonic Verilog-A, or INTERCONNECT libraries (or both) according to your needs.
