FEEM adds support for PML boundary condition
PML boundary conditions are now available in FEEM for accurate calculation of losses in waveguide and fiber modes.
FEEM supports diagonal anisotropy
FEEM supports materials with diagonal anisotropy. This can be used to analyze Lithium Niobate nonlinear thermal waveguides, for example.

CML Compiler generates statistical model for passives directly from measured data
The sparsweep_pcell photonic model in CML Compiler now supports statistical modeling of passive components directly from measured S-parameter data.
CML Compiler adds support for Avalanche photodetectors
The new photonic model in CML Compiler for Avalanche Photodetectors (APD) captures the impact of the multiplication factor and ionization ratio of this type of photodetectors, as well as the shot and thermal noise, and saturation effects. It also supports statistical variations.
Electro-optical co-simulation with Spectre supports disabling electrical bandwidth in the INTERCONNECT model
The co-simulation with Ansys INTERCONNECT and Cadence Spectre allows users to enable or disable the internal electrical RC filter in the INTERCONNECT compact model. Depending on the setup, electrical RC bandwidths of electro-optical elements can be modeled either inside INTERCONNECT compact models or by electrical RC circuits in Spectre.
