In Part 2 of the Getting Started with Ansys Zemax OpticStudio guide, we create our first system: a singlet. We start by implementing the optical specifications of our example system into the System Explorer, then we create the system in the Lens Data Editor. We use analysis windows to monitor the performance of the system and introduce the concepts of operands and the Merit Function. Then, we specify and optimize the parameters of the system with the help of the Optimization Wizard tool. By the end of Part 2, a user will know how to input their system and its specifications into OpticStudio, as well as how to improve the system with the built-in Optimization tools.
