This article summarize the tool and license requirements for Cadence interoperability.
Tools and Licenses
The following operating systems are supported:
- RedHat® Enterprise Linux® 6, 7 (64-bit editions only)
Following Tools/Software are required for co-simulation:
- Cadence Virtuoso (ICADVM201, or IC231)
- Cadence ADE-Explorer
- Cadence Spectre
- For Spectre181, we support ISR5 to ISR11
- For Spectre191, we support ISR6 or later
- All Spectre201 versions
- All Spectre211 versions
- Ansys Lumerical 2020 R2 or later
Following licenses are required to properly run simulations:
- From Ansys-Lumerical:
- Option 1: Ansys Lumerical INTERCONNECT
- Option 2: Ansys Enterprise
- From Cadence:
- Option 1: Virtuoso® Photonics Platform
- Option 2: Virtuoso® Photonics Option + Spectre® Classic Simulator + Virtuoso® ADE Explorer
Environment Setup
Please make sure that Linux environment has configured $PATH for INTERCONNECT, Spectre, and Virtuoso. This can be checked in terminal using “which” commands:
which interconnect
which spectre
which virtuoso
Following shell environment variable setups are required:
For users using Virtuoso Photonics Option (95550) license, the following two shell environment variable setups are needed:
setenv Virtuoso_Photonics_Option
setenv Virtuoso_MultiTech
For users using Virtuoso Photonics Platform (95551) license, the following shell environment variable setup is needed:
setenv Virtuoso_Photonics_Platform
