Licenses for clusters use the Floating MAC locked license model. In this model, the license is locked to the MAC address of the computer running the license manager. The Ansys license manager is installed and run from a node on the cluster, or from a server where the cluster can connect to check out the license.
Ansys Lumerical accelerator license
- The Ansys Lumerical accelerator license contains the FDTD solve license feature. This does not have a GUI license feature.
- To run FDTD on the cluster or cloud, you will need at least one (1) FDTD license which contains both Lumerical product component licenses; the GUI, and solve licenses. This will allow opening the GUI for 'prep/post'. And running a simulation using up to 32 cores on the machine.
- Additional "accelerator" licenses can be purchased depending on the number of cores used or the number of simulations running at the same time (concurrent jobs).
- If there is no GUI access on the cluster, you can run the simulation utilizing only the FDTD solve (acclerator) licenses. This is done by submitting simulation jobs to the cluster via a job scheduler from the terminal.
