EME profile monitors collect the field profile in the frequency domain from simulation results across some spatial region within an EME solver simulation.
Note: Memory and computation time requirements EME profile monitors have modest memory requirements. The EME profile monitor data is calculated after the main simulation runs, in analysis mode. EME monitors do not affect the simulation run time. The monitor data is calculated when the fields are propagated in analysis mode. The propagation time may increase due to the presence of monitors, especially for 3D monitors with high resolution. Users have the option to not update monitors during propagation by unselecting the "update monitors" checkbox in the EME solver analysis window. |
Note: Cell group periodicity and EME profile monitors EME field profile monitors should not be used with the Cell group periodicity feature. EME profile monitors will not correctly reconstruct the field profile when Cell group periodicity is used. |
General tab
SAVE DATA: The field data as a function of position will be saved as a .mat file with the specified file name.
Geometry tab
Monitor type: The monitor type and orientation, this option will control the available of spatial setting below
- X, Y, Z: The center position of the simulation region
- X MIN, X MAX: X min, X max position
- Y MIN, Y MAX: Y min, Y max position
- Z MIN, Z MAX: Z min, Z max position
- X SPAN, Y SPAN, Z SPAN: X, Y, Z span of the simulation region
X RESOLUTION: Resolution of the monitor in x direction, 100 by default. This number can be changed in the analysis mode, but will need "eme propagate" to take effect.
