A statistically enabled waveguide MMI model described by parameterized s-parameters. In this model delta_height and delta_width have statistical variation and affect transmission amplitude, transmission phase and transmission group delay.
For information on statistical CMLs, see Statistical CMLs.

Cell |
A cell array containing structs which have information about each statistical parameter. Required fields: name: name of the statistical parameter. mean: mean value of the statistical parameter. type: use "Number" for continuous numerical parameters or "ComboChoice" for discrete options. corners: corner values of the statistical parameter provided as a Cx1 matrix where C is the number of process corners defined in the XML file. LOCAL: struct describing the LOCAL level variation of the statistical parameter with the following fields:
Optional fields: GLOBAL: struct containing the GLOBAL level variation of the statistical parameter with the following fields:

Data File
S_parameter |
A text file containing the waveguide MMI s-parameters in the 'S-Parameter file sweep' option defined in Optical N Port S-Parameter format (see "S-Parameter file sweep option"). The s-parameters must be defined for at least two frequency points. The parameters in the S-Parameter data of this template consists only of statistical parameters. It is, however, possible to support both nominal and statistical parameters in the same data file. In such cases, the statistical parameters must be defined last in the combined list of parameters. Note: It's preferable to include group delay, as this allows for accurate modelling of the group delay between the different ports of the element. For more information on providing group delay, see group delay specification in s-parameter elements. |
