Hello and welcome to DGTD 100.
My name is Milad and I'm a support engineer at Lumerical.
This course will cover the Discontinious-Galerkin time domain, or DGTD solver in Lumerical DEVICE.
As the name suggests, the DGTD solver is a time-domain solver, similar to FDTD, but the
fields are solved over a finite-element mesh rather than a rectilinear mesh.
The DGTD solver is a tool which is complementary to FDTD and is able to address certain problems
more efficiently.
This course will focus on the setup and analysis of Mie scattering simulation for a plasmonic
nanoparticle.
We will also briefly cover the solver physics as well as general simulation tips on how
and when to use the DGTD solver.
Anyone who passes the course will receive a Lumerical University DGTD 100 certificate.
