Partitioned volume mode which can be enabled from the simulation section of each solver
specific tab can generate a partitioned volume of the simulation region.
This volume is composed of different domains and surfaces and represents exactly what a
solver can see during simulation.
Only simulation objects such as sources, monitors, and boundary conditions can be edited in this
mode.
If the geometry or simulation region is edited then the design environment switches back
to the "Layout" mode.
In partitioned volume mode, the entire simulation region is partitioned into multiple domains.
Each domain has a unique ID and material.
the list of domains is available under the 'simulation region' object in the objects
tree.
When a domain is selected in the objects tree the corresponding domain gets highlighted
in the view port.
The domain ID can be used to assign simulation objects such as sources, monitors, and boundary
conditions to a desired domain.
Each domain contains multiple surfaces that create the domain and each surface has a unique
ID.
A single surface can belong to multiple domains if it is located at the interface between
two domains.
The surface ID can be used to assign simulation objects such as sources, monitors, and boundary
conditions to any selected surface.
Note that in a two dimensional simulation, a domain will translate into a surface and
a surface is equivalent to a line.
Also, in partitioned volume mode, the location of different simulation objects gets highlighted
in the partitioned volume when the corresponding object is selected in the objects tree.
